AU VIEUX TILLEUL
If you want to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the heart of rural France,
then this is the house for you.
A 15th Century converted house and barn which sleeps 6 - 8 people,
with large (12mtrs x 6mtrs) secluded swimming pool.

Our beautiful house is situated in the small hamlet of Chez Bertrand, about 40 minutes south of Poitiers.
The Region of Poitou-Charentes, of which Charente is a part, is second only to the Cote d'Azur in the number of sunshine hours recorded each year. This is the region of blue skies and sunshine.
The name of the house "Au Vieux Tilleul" (at the old linden tree) is derived from the large lime tree located to the side of the property. It was planted at the time of Henry IV (1582) to celebrate religious freedom.
Enter through the gates into the front garden area. The south-facing front of the house presents a bright, interesting façade. This and the attached barn have been added to over the centuries, the oldest part dates back to the 15th century with additions taking place in both the 18th and 19th centuries.
Surrounding the house are quiet roads, woods and fields where one can relax and enjoy a walk in peace. In the local towns and villages (nearest Sauze-Vaussais) you will find all your daily needs together with bars and restaurants if you find that cooking is just too much of an effort. For more comprehensive facilities the major towns of Poitiers and Angouleme are but a short journey away. Take a trip to La Rochelle and try the sea food, we are told it is well worth the effort, if you find a gem of a place please let us know so that we may pass on to future guests.
Please Note : This is strictly a NO SMOKING HOUSE
We regret that NO PETS ALLOWED
